We create sustainable, flexible buildings in wood and steel. Our solution tackles two major climate challenges in construction: reducing wasteful overbuilding (for example underused government offices in Finland have an average occupancy of 28%*) and cutting real estate emissions, which make up 37%** of global building industry greenhouse gases.

The Parmaco business model is circular, and our modular buildings redefine construction by prioritizing reuse over replacement. With our flexible rental model, clients benefit from sustainable solutions that evolve with their needs, eliminating waste and maximizing value.
A building can be old and new at the same time. The same building can serve different purposes and be located in several places.
Our modular buildings are designed to adapt to multiple locations and purposes, and they can reduce emissions by up to 72% compared to traditional construction methods. A Life-Cycle Analysis (LCA) conducted by a third party, showed that emissions can be avoided by moving a building three times rather than constructing new ones. The study compared the construction of four concrete and wood schools with one Parmaco school, which was relocated three times over a span of 50 years. The emissions of transporting Parmaco’s schools are small when compared to the total carbon footprint of establishing new schools in new locations. Parmaco’s movable school solution also helps avoid the construction of unnecessary additional space.
We are proud to lead the change in reducing construction-related emissions. Our partnership with SSAB will soon bring to life the world’s first fossil-free Hybrit®-steel concept building, showcasing the possibilities of these materials. Additionally, our energy-efficient Fixcel® steel modules and optimized processes, minimize environmental impact without compromising quality.

Each step we take should bring us closer to a truly circular and carbon-neutral tomorrow.
During the last years, we have focused on deepening our understanding of the environmental, social, and economic impacts of dynamic architecture in a changing world. The circular business model and its potential on how we view the lifespan and usage of buildings in general is a real game changer. We have looked at areas where we see that we clearly make an impact and areas that align with our circular business model. These areas were further crystallized in the Double Materiality Analysis we did in 2024. The DMA climate change, circular economy, workforce, value chain workers, end users, and business conduct were identified as material. These areas shape the foundation of our sustainability strategy.
Since 2022, we have also put effort into understanding our environmental impact, analyzing the structure of our carbon footprint. We know that 97% of our emissions come from our Scope 3 emissions in the value chain, and we work on reducing those as well as Scope 1 and 2 emissions. We are continuously working on making our products better and using LCAs as a tool for this.
