Parmaco joins Green Building Council Finland

We at Parmaco are proud to announce that as of April 30, 2025, we have been accepted as a Green Building Council Finland (FIGBC) member. FIGBC is a non-profit organization that champions sustainable development within the built environment. As part of the global World Green Building Council network, it unites players across the real estate and construction sectors—businesses, municipalities, and experts alike—around a common goal: driving the industry toward carbon neutrality, circularity, and construction practices that respect planetary boundaries.

Becoming a member is a natural next step for us in deepening our impact on the future of sustainable construction. It’s also a valuable opportunity to bring the dynamic building model into the wider conversation on circular economy and sustainable innovation in the sector.

At Parmaco, we design, manufacture, and lease high-quality, modular buildings, primarily for the public sector. Our buildings adapt to changing needs throughout their lifecycle—serving, for instance, as daycare centers, schools, or care facilities. Dynamic construction allows buildings to be expanded, reduced, or relocated entirely, without compromising on quality, safety, or comfort.

“The world is changing faster than ever. Decision-makers in the public sector are faced with long-term commitments in an uncertain future. Dynamic construction provides a responsible, sustainable way to respond to change,” says our Head of Sustainability, Nathalie Clément.

Circular economy is not a value-add — it’s our foundation

Circularity is not an afterthought at Parmaco—it’s embedded in everything we do. We don’t build disposable structures; our buildings live, evolve, and move. This commitment to circularity has also earned us international recognition: in 2024, Parmaco was named one of Europe’s top 30 circular economy companies by the World Circular Economy Forum.

The dynamic architecture we are pioneering offers a real alternative to conventional construction. We believe that sustainable and beautiful architecture doesn’t have to be static, and permanence doesn’t have to mean rigidity.

FIGBC — a community where we want to make a difference

Our membership in FIGBC gives us a platform to engage in shaping the future of sustainable construction, in collaboration with other changemakers across the industry. We value the network’s ability to anticipate shifts—whether in regulation, user needs, or broader industry trends.

“This sector is slow to evolve, and that brings its own set of challenges. For us, it’s vital to help build understanding around the fact that dynamic construction meets all the same regulatory and quality standards as traditional buildings—while being more flexible and resource-efficient,” Clément emphasizes.

We’re excited for the conversations, collaborations, and fresh perspectives that the FIGBC community will bring. Just as importantly, we’re eager to share our own expertise, so that together, we can build a more adaptable, responsible, and human-centered future.

Modern care and functionality – new healthcare building enhances the hospital in city of Lappeenranta, Finland

Persistent indoor air quality issues at the Armila Health Center in Lappeenranta, Finland, prompted the South Karelia Wellbeing County to consolidate operations into a new, modern facility. Renovating the aging building was deemed impractical, and the new healthcare environment had to fulfill strict criteria regarding its location, functionality, and safety. Parmaco was selected as the partner to deliver a high-quality, sustainable solution for long-term hospital use.

A three-storey addition to the hospital complex

The new building is situated adjacent to the main entrance of Lappeenranta Central Hospital, on a site previously used as a parking area. It connects directly to the existing hospital facilities via a covered walkway, ensuring seamless movement between buildings and supporting multidisciplinary collaboration.

The facility spans three floors, with a total gross area of 3,400 square meters. Designed to meet the requirements of modern healthcare, the building accommodates several essential services: the ground floor houses the urgent care clinic and a memory disorder outpatient clinic; the second floor is dedicated to a geriatric ward; and the third floor features department called Tutka, a care unit for individuals with severe developmental disabilities. All spaces have been designed with an emphasis on functionality, accessibility, and user-centered design.

Safety as a design priority

As the building provides 24/7 care, and particularly due to the nature of the third-floor services, the highest level of fire safety was required. Following the fire authorities’ guidelines, the building is being constructed to meet fire class P1 standards, ensuring maximum safety for long-term use.

This is made possible by Parmaco’s steel frame solution, combined with an automatic sprinkler system. This approach offers both structural safety and flexible spatial design, supporting the diverse operational needs of the facility well into the future.

A building that fits its environment

The exterior design of the building respects the surrounding hospital architecture. Rendered façades and a subdued color palette help integrate the new structure into the existing campus, conveying a sense of calm and dignity. The new facility not only complements the overall hospital complex but also elevates its functionality and service capacity to a new level.

A collaborative effort

From the outset, the project has involved both the technical department of the Wellbeing County and representatives from the end-user organizations. The goal has been to create a solution that meets all operational and technical requirements while also supporting staff wellbeing and enhancing patient care.

The lease agreement was signed in October 2024, and the building is scheduled for completion and commissioning in summer 2025.

“We at Parmaco are proud to contribute to the realization of a modern and sustainable healthcare facility in Lappeenranta—one that can serve the region, or potentially other areas in Finland, for decades to come,” says Key Account Manager Jani Rönkkö.

Parmaco, a builder of dynamic service networks, has secured significant financing to support its growth in the domestic market and accelerate its expansion across Europe

ESPOO, FINLAND – 29th April 2025

Parmaco, a leading provider of dynamic building-based service networks, has successfully refinanced and upsized its existing debt facilities. With this new financing exceeding EUR 700 million, Parmaco is even better positioned to deliver flexible, cost-effective space solutions — from individual buildings to complete service networks — to municipalities, cities, and wellbeing counties. The new financing will not only strengthen the company’s ability to serve its domestic customers more broadly and efficiently over time, but also fuel its ambitious expansion into European markets.

“This arrangement significantly strengthens our ability to offer the public sector flexible and sustainable space solutions. Service networks made up of dynamic rental buildings provide our customers with predictability, agility, and — when actively optimized — even a billion-euro level savings potential for societies we serve. In practice, the customer receives a ready-to-use, purpose-built, and easily deployable space solution without the burden of upfront investment or long-term commitment, effectively avoiding the costs of unused space and real estate risks.

We take care of the building’s lifecycle, allowing the customer to focus on their core mission: delivering high-quality services efficiently,” says Jukka Joutsenkoski, CEO of Parmaco Group.

Dynamic Buildings — modern, adjustable space solutions for Finland and Europe

Parmaco’s dynamic building concept is a next-generation rental space solution. It combines the modularity and flexibility typically associated with temporary structures with the look and feel of traditional, static buildings. In practice, dynamic buildings can be easily adapted over time in size, location, and even function — all while providing the same quality of experience as static, conventional constructions. “In Finland, dynamic buildings have already proven to be a successful and widely adopted model. Now, with the strong additional funding we’ve secured, our goal is to replicate this innovative concept internationally and accelerate the strong growth story of Finnish ingenuity,” Joutsenkoski says.

International backing for a Finnish innovation

Parmaco’s majority owner is Partners Group, one of the largest firms in the global private markets industry, and the company is financed by a group of leading international institutions. The breadth and scale of Parmaco’s financing base reflect strong confidence among investors in the company’s business model and international growth strategy. The building industry is undergoing a global transformation, driven by space flexibility required over time and growing demands for sustainability. Parmaco’s offering — combining flexibility in construction with a strong focus on reusability — has sparked heightened interest among financing providers.

“While Parmaco’s roots and values are firmly grounded in Finland, we are an international company with a global outlook. Our buildings are primarily produced in the Nordics, leveraging the expertise of our teams and our extensive network of partners. With a commitment to flexibility, sustainability, and societal impact, we deliver space solutions that meet the evolving needs of communities. This new financing arrangement gives us the resources to scale ambitiously, operate responsibly, and build a long-term success story on the international stage,” Joutsenkoski summarizes.

Parmaco unveils a renewed brand—shaping the future of circular and dynamic architecture

Espoo, Finland – February 3, 2025

With a deep commitment to circularity, flexibility, and design, Parmaco is unveiling a renewed brand identity that reflects its evolution and vision for the future. As a pioneer in dynamic architecture, Parmaco continues to challenge the traditional perception of buildings—delivering spaces that adjust, relocate, and transform alongside the communities they serve.

With roots in Finland and over six decades of expertise, Parmaco has redefined what buildings can be, offering an alternative to linear construction and ownership models. Through its rental model, Parmaco provides high-quality, modular buildings that can expand, shrink, or be repurposed—empowering schools, daycares, residential buildings, healthcare facilities, offices, and much more to meet shifting demands with efficiency and sustainability.

“Buildings should not be static structures—they should evolve with the needs of society,” says Jukka Joutsenkoski, CEO of Parmaco Group. “Our rebrand reflects our journey from a local Finnish innovator to a leader in flexible and sustainable building solutions across Finland, Sweden, and Germany.”

Parmaco’s circular approach rethinks how buildings are designed, used, and reused. Unlike traditional structures that follow a linear lifecycle, Parmaco’s modular designs are built to be reconfigured, relocated, and reborn, minimizing waste and environmental impact while ensuring long-term value.

“Circularity is at the core of everything we do. Our buildings are designed not only to serve today’s needs but to remain valuable for future generations,” says Anna Elo, Marketing Director at Parmaco. “This brand evolution represents the energy, innovation, and responsibility that have driven Parmaco forward—and will continue to define our future.”

The rebranding marks more than just a visual transformation—it is a reaffirmation of Parmaco’s commitment to reshaping the built environment with spaces that are as functional, adaptable, and beautiful as they are sustainable.
